Gerry's Opening Monologue -
"This is Gerry Prokopowicz, with Civil War Talk Radio,...

...one of the unique organizations of the Civil War, was the Federal 9th Corps, commanded most famously by Ambrose Burnside. From early success in North Carolina to its iconic fight for the bridge over Antietam Creek. From charges at Fredericksburg to its participation in the Overland Campaign and the disaster of The Crater. The 9th Corp was continuously where the action was in the Eastern Theater. It had a side trip to the West as well, but that's for another day. Tonight's topic is 'Burnsides Boys: The Unions Ninth Corps and the Civil War in the East.' We will talk with author Darin Wipperman tonight on Civil War Talk Radio."
