Jamie  Malanowski April 15, 2011

Jamie Malanowski, of the NY Times "Opinionator," a CW sesquicentennial blog.

Gerry's Opening Monologue -
"This is Gerry Prokopowicz, with Civil War Talk Radio,...

"...what if newspapers, like the New York Times, had existed in 1860? Wait the New York Times did exist in 1860. But what if it had, not just paper transmission, but electronic media, blogs in particular and the ability not only to publish articles but to immediately solicit a wide range of commentary from other journalists, experts and the public themselves? One way we might get some idea of that is by reading the series 'Disunion' in the New York Times since 2010 and following the 150 year anniversary of events leading up to the secession of the South, the firing on Fort Sumter and continuing now, in 2011, into the Civil War. We will talk to day with the Chief Opinionator of the 'Disunion' blog, Jamie Malanowski, on Civil War Talk Radio."
